The community services industry is currently valued at over $36 billion in Australia alone and is predicted to keep growing over the next five years. This shows a real need for the services Afea provides. This reasoning is not enough for Afea, as even though they are based in an industry purported to be dedicated to care, there is such mismanagement and even a lack of compassion – Afea is determined to change that. Esha Oberoi founded Afea at age 24 with the mission of improving the quality of care given to those in need.

Beginning as a sole entrepreneur with a second hand computer and an Uniden phone, in six years Afea has grown to the point where they are providing skilled services to the government and not-for-profit, hospitals and other health facilities in Sydney and regional NSW with over 150 staff. One of the ways that Afea works towards this mission is in the company values. These include integrity, social responsibility, service, innovation and resilience. The clients and partners have come to expect behaviour from the Afea team which demonstrates these values, thus it is important franchisees are able to live up to these values.

Afea is working to achieve their mission of care through quality relationships with the industry and a responsive and flexible approach to the needs of their suppliers and clients. Afea is using franchising as a way to spread this compassionate approach to community services Australia-wide.

The franchise program Afea has created meant that a potential Afea franchisee doesn’t need to come from a health-services background. A franchisee will not be providing the care directly; instead they will be managing the business and the relationships with clients as well as the relationships with government, NFP, hospitals, aged care and other partners.

Afea has developed strategies, systems and processes to assist in the franchisee on boarding, training, operations and marketing (both head office and local area marketing for franchisees). All franchisees will also be able to take advantage of their specialised and tailor made technology solutions to help run and manage a successful franchise.
